The Welborn Cup is open to the top 50 racers from qualifying northern Michigan Junior Race teams. Racers may compete in both Slalom and Giant Slalom events and an overall ski club champion will be crowned.

Event Details:

  • Sunday, March 5, 2023
  • Races will take place on North Boyne
  • Lifts open at 8:30am for course inspection
  • Slalom Races begin at 10am - all ages
  • GS Races to begin following completion of Slalom
  • Post-Race "Luncheon" - Hot Dogs, Chips & Beverage (roughly 3pm)
  • Awards Ceremony in the Back Forty Biergarten - 1 hour post-race
  • Prize drawings for Marker, Dalbello, and Volkl swag & Boyne Mountain gift cards

Event Details

March 5, 2023

    • Racers receive discounted lift tickets ($25) that may be obtained through each team's coach
    • Volunteers ski at no cost during the event
    • Spectators may purchase lift tickets here
    • Kids 5 and under ski free 
    • Spectators on foot may walk up to the bottom of North Boyne for viewing of races
    • All spectators on ski / snowboards must purchase a lift ticket or season pass in advance | Buy Now
    • Tailgating:
      • No spectator tents will be allowed at the base on the course, nor in the village. All tailgate foods may be consumed in the "Brown Bag" area on the bottom level of the Civic Center
    • Food & Beverage Options:
      • Happy's Taco Truck: 11am - 4:30pm
      • National Coney Island Truck: 11am - 8pm
      • Mountain Express Deli - 9am - 8pm
      • Waffle Cabin: 10am - 9pm
      • Forty Acres Tavern: 11am - 11pm
      • Trophy Room Pub & Pizzeria: 11:30am - 11pm
      • Back Forty Biergarten: 11am - 11pm
      • Flat Top Burger Truck: Noon-7pm
    • Luncheon:
      • A post race "luncheon" will take place in the Back Forty Biergarten one hour after the race (roughly 3pm).
        • Food offerings to include hot dogs, chips and a drink for all racers.
        • Random prize drawings for Marker, Dalbello, and Volkl swag, as well as Boyne Mountain gift cards
