Spring Challenge

The Spring Challenge between Boyne Mountain and Mount Bohemia is returning for its second year to see which area can keep lifts turning and slopes open the longest.

The ski areas must operate at least one day per week for a minimum of five hours per day. The loser of the challenge will donate a $1,000 to the charity of the winner's choice. Boyne Mountain's beneficiary is the Boyne City Food Pantry, and Mount Bohemia would have funds go to the Copper Country Humane Society.

Boyne Mountain won the 2018 Challenge with the final day of skiing on May 6.

With more than 147 inches of snowfall over the 18-19 season, the total has surpassed the 2014-17 seasonal totals and is on track for another late spring closing date. The lifts at Boyne Mountain are spinning daily through Sunday, April 14 and weekends thereafter for as long as Mother Nature allows.
