Boyne Mountain Resort Keeps Michigan Skiing Alive into May with Victor Glacier

The Last Mountain Standing Hosts Late-Season Boho Bash on May 16

While the rest of Michigan has hung up its skis, Boyne Mountain Resort isn’t done yet. Thanks to Victor Glacier, the resort's signature late-season snow feature on the Victor slope, weekend skiing is planned to continue through Memorial Day Weekend, cementing Boyne Mountain's status as the home of Michigan's longest ski season.

With Mount Bohemia now officially closed for the season, Boyne Mountain and its Victor Glacier stand alone. Sitting at approximately 9 feet deep, the glacier opens weekends only, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with one run and one lift. Boyne Mountain's park crew has also set up a terrain park at the base of the glacier that will remain in place as long as conditions allow.

In a tradition that's become one of northern Michigan's most beloved ski rivalries, Mount Bohemia is bringing its passholders to Boyne Mountain on Saturday, May 16, for a Boho Bash.

Late-Season Boho Bash, Saturday, May 16

  • Morning Slush Rush — Boho passholders ski free at Boyne Mountain, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Afternoon Splash Bash — Pool takeover at Clock Tower Lodge, 2 – 4 p.m., open to all Boho and Boyne Michigan passholders
  • Beats & Eats — DJ on Stein's patio with free pizza for passholders

"Victor Glacier has once again delivered Michigan’s longest ski season, and the Boho Bash is the perfect way to celebrate with season passholders who love winter just as much as we do,” said Jason Perl, president and general manager of Boyne Mountain Resort.

Weekend skiing on Victor Glacier is included with a valid Boyne lift ticket or pass. For the latest on current conditions or to purchase lift tickets, visit boynemountain.com.
