Rental FAQ
Yes, and we encourage it! Reduce your wait time and be ready to hit the slopes in the morning by picking up your gear the evening prior. Rentals can be picked up the day before between 7-9pm when there is night skiing, and between 2-4pm when there is not night skiing. Please verify the night skiing dates before arriving for pickup.
The Boyne Mountain Rental Shop is located on the ground floor of our Skier Services Building. Rentals should be accessed from the entrance located on the west side of the building, adjacent to the Mountain Express Chairlift.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled lesson time, dressed and ready to go. If you need equipment rentals, please allow at least 45 minutes to complete the rental process.
There are no changing rooms in the Rentals Shop. Please come dressed and ready to ski.
Yes. We encourage you to purchase your lift tickets online, in advance. Once you arrive at the Rental Shop, proceed to one of our Pick Up Boxes to get your new RFID Go Card. If you already have a season pass or Ikon Pass, you can skip this step.
When it's time to ski or ride, place your Go Card in a jacket pocket. Do not punch a hole in your Go Card. The RFID gates read the chip in your jacket, so just zip it in and get on the lift.
Once you've gotten your Go Card, you can use it season after season, simply purchase your lift ticket online, and your Go Card is automatically valid on the dates you purchased.
Ski and snowboard socks should be taller than your boots and not overly thick. It might sound counterintuitive, but thin socks will keep your feet much warmer during a day of skiing. Bulky ski socks also tend to bunch up. Those wrinkles can easily reduce circulation to your feet, making them very cold.
Also, the best ski and snowboard socks are made from either merino wool or a synthetic blend. When it comes to cotton, just say no! No matter how cold it is outside, your feet are bound to get sweaty while skiing or riding. Cotton lacks the wicking properties of wool and synthetic fabrics, leading to wet, cold feet and increasing the risk of blisters.
We understand plans change, so if you need to adjust your reservation, please call us at 231.549.7155 at least 24 hours in advance.
