Alpine racing for this group offers a wide range of pathways to success. While Team Boyne emphasizes quality over quantity, each athlete sets their own goals and season plan.

Many racers compete at the high school level, focusing on select USSS Regional Races, while others may pursue the FIS series. Our coaches work closely with each athlete to help define the pathway that’s right for them.

Parent volunteers make racing possible. The most successful programs thrive on family involvement, and Team Boyne encourages all families to pitch in—we’ll help you get started.

Weekend races can’t happen without you. Gatekeepers, starters, referees, jury members, announcers, and course crews are all needed. Every team is expected to provide volunteers to keep the races running smoothly.

All athletes should have required equipment purchased, tuned, and binding-checked by mid-November.

All of this gear can be purchased used. Our team is here to help make this sport accessible and affordable — and fellow Team Boyne race families are an excellent resource for gently used gear.

  • Required: Snow jacket & pants, FIS-approved helmet with hard ear guards, goggles, slalom skis, GS skis, poles
  • Recommended: Chin guard, shin guards, pole guards, mouth guard
  • Permitted: Race suit, back protector

More information coming Late Summer/Fall 2026. We are working to establish a financial assistance pathway in the near future.

Competing in CR3 races requires an annual USSA membership and a registration fee for each individual race.
