Most outdoor spaces at Boyne Mountain welcome dogs, provided they are leashed and respectful of other guests and other dogs. During summer months, dogs under 20 pounds are allowed on SkyBridge Michigan, but must be carried at all times while on the bridge.

For safety and comfort reasons, dogs are not permitted in several locations throughout the resort. During winter, dogs cannot access the chairlifts or SkyBridge Michigan. Water areas, including Deer Lake Beach and swim area, Avalanche Bay Waterpark, and all pool areas, are off-limits to pets.

Our wellness facilities—including The Spa, saunas, and fitness centers—do not allow dogs. Additionally, dogs are restricted from activity areas such as dining spaces, the hayride wagon, horse corrals, and Zipline Adventure Tours.

Dogs are allowed in select accommodations at Boyne Mountain. Please call Central Reservations in advance at 800.462.6963 to reserve dog-friendly accommodations. Upon hotel check-in, a non-refundable dog fee of $50 per night per room is charged to the resort guest folio.

Weapons Policy

Boyne Mountain prohibits the possession of all weapons on the resort property. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation in keeping things peaceful for all our guests.

For the safety and comfort of all our guests, we respectfully request that no weapons of any kind be brought onto resort property.

This includes firearms, knives (except small pocket knives), and any other weapons or dangerous instruments.

Law enforcement officers who present valid identification/credentials are permitted to carry firearms on property.

Drone Policy

Personal photography is allowed across the resort and at all resort events. All commercial and media filming, video and photography, requires prior approval from Boyne Mountain's Marketing Department.

Check out our Drone Policy below:

Due to safety and privacy concerns, Boyne Mountain prohibits the operation of drones on or above resort property without prior written authorization. This includes drones used for filming, videotaping, or by media/journalists within the resort boundaries. Authorization requires proof of FAA licensing, drone use insurance, and a liability release.

Any violation of this policy may be reported to the FAA and result in suspension of resort access, revocation of season passes, and confiscation of prohibited equipment. Violators will be liable for damages, including trespass, privacy violations, and injuries, as well as legal fees.

Individuals wishing to use drones at Boyne Mountain should contact the Marketing Department to apply for authorization and provide the required documentation.

Uphill Policy

All uphill travel is at your own risk. Check out our full uphill policy below:

Uphill access is permitted one hour before operating hours start and during posted operating hours only at Boyne Mountain Resort. For safety, the following guidelines apply:

  1. You must have a valid season pass or day ticket.
  2. Uphill equipment must have metal edges, restraining devices/brakes, and industry-approved bindings (AT/telemark skis only, no cross-country skis).
  3. Uphill travel is allowed only on the designated route up Deer Run and/or Cold Springs Trails to the top of the Mountain Express chair.
  4. If you ascend before operating hours, you must descend the same route. All trails and terrain parks are closed outside of operating hours, except the designated uphill route.
  5. Remain visible and follow "Your Responsibility Code" at all times.
  6. No dogs are allowed, except service dogs on leash.
  7. Overnight stays on the mountain are prohibited.
  8. Management reserves the right to close the mountain at any time. Sledding is not permitted at any time.
  9. The mountain is cleared of all guests and staff at the end of each operating day.

Uphill access before operating hours is at your own risk. Conditions may be variable, and you may encounter snowmobiles, snowmaking, grooming, and other equipment. Use caution and remain aware of your surroundings.

It is strongly recommended that all uphill users wear brightly-colored clothing and have reflective material on clothing, poles, or packs to heighten visibility.

Flashing lights, such as those commonly used by bicycle riders, make it easy for other users and ski area personnel to see you. Use extra caution if you are descending in the dark or in low-light conditions.

Be aware of other skiers, riders, and vehicles approaching you. Stay to the side of the authorized uphill routes and avoid spots where you may not be visible. When descending, please be aware and considerate of other users and ski area personnel.

Avoid all grooming operations, especially Winch Cats. The cable between the anchor and the cat can be difficult to see and maybe under the snow. These cables can stretch for thousands of feet and can move very quickly. The Top of the Trail Being winched is marked with a red reflective sign that reads DANGER CABLE "grooming in progress" and a flashing blue light. DO NOT CROSS if encountered.

Be aware that patrol services are not available outside of operating hours, and ski area buildings are closed. In case of an emergency, call 911 and know that response times could be extended. Mobile phone service can be unreliable on the mountain.

Tubing Policy

Sledding of any kind is not permitted on Boyne Mountain property. Good news – we have snow tubing!

Head to the Top Notch Tube Park instead!
